RSSAf Fellow investigates ‘fairy circles’ in Nambia

Professor Don Cowan, director of the Genomics Research Institute at the University of Pretoria and a group of scientists spent time in Namibia recently investigating the mysterious patches in the desert where nothing grows. They are circles of sandy soil varying diameters which are completely barren.   Many theories have been put forward since their discovery in the last century.  For the full story go to the Mail & Guardian of 25 April
