Current Fellows of the Royal Society of South Africa are invited to nominate suitable candidates for Fellowship and/or for one of the annual Awards of the Society. Information about Fellowship of the RSSAf can be found here. A description of the three annual Awards and general information about the nomination process can be found here.
Please note that the nomination of New Fellows and Award nominations should be treated as strictly confidential. The nominees are not supposed to be informed of the fact that they are nominated. Required information such as CV, list of publication and citation/justification are to be prepared in collaboration with HoDs, colleagues, etc.
For the nomination of a New Fellow, apart from the details of the nominee, the following information is required:
- Names and e-mail addresses of four signatories of the nomination (three of whom need to be a Fellow, the fourth can be a Fellow or a Member of the RSSAf).
- A citation of maximum one A4 page that explains the reason why the nominee qualifies to be a Fellow of the RSSAf (Word or PDF document).
- An up-to-date CV of the nominee (PDF document)
- A full publication list of the nominee (PDF document).
The nomination of new Fellows will be possible again around May/June 2023.
For a Medal Award nomination, (see descriptions) apart from the details of the nominee, the following information is required:
- Names and e-mail addresses of the nominator and three supporters of the nomination, all of whom need to be Fellows of the RSSAf.
- A citation or justification in which the specific achievements are mentioned that warrant the nomination for the specific award (Word or PDF)
- An up-to-date CV of the nominee (Word or PDF)
- A full publication list of the nominee (Word or PDF)
